Not a good day today, as another of my favourite mahou shoujo series has fallen into 4Kids' hands - this time, Futari wa Pretty Cure, which 4Kids confirmed at New York Comic Con earlier today. The series is due to appear on US screens in September.

AnimeBoredom has an interview Michael Haigney, writer and producer of some of 4Kids' Engligh-language adaptations, which gives a little insight into how the localising process works and what they need to take into account when creating the English dub. You can find the interview here - not perhaps the most exciting reading, but interesting nonetheless. Thanks to Kiwi-chan for the link.

ANN is reporting that episode 24 of Mew Mew Power, Diamonds are a Girl's Worst Enemy, will air on December 24th. Still no news on episodes 27 onwards, though...
UPDATE: Late schedule changes... Thanks to a double episode of Magical Doremi now being scheduled for the 24th, MMP will now return on the 31st, apparently with episode 14. Thanks to Mystere for digging through the schedules...

End of the Line for MMP TV? |

Anime News Network reports that MMP is no longer listed on 4Kids schedules from the 19th November. We had been expecting episode 24 to air this weekend, but that no longer appears to be the case. There have been comments on TV Tome saying it'll be back on air in three weeks, but that has yet to be confirmed.
In related news, it seems there has been no work done yet on dubbing the second half of the series (episodes 27-52). Quite what that means, I'm not sure - it seems unlikely 4Kids would cancel their 3rd-highest rated show, but the lack of progress is unlikely to be a good sign.
UPDATE: The folks over at ICv2 have word from 4Kids that MMP will return - although the phrase "new episodes" is notable by its absence...
