If you need some help with your letter...

...here's a standard letter you can use. Thanks to Dani on the AnimeonDVD.com Forums for providing this template.

Dear ______,

I am writing in regards to a recent announcement that your company has licensed Tokyo Mew Mew for US distribution.  I, and many others, have been buying the Tokyopop release of the manga, and have been eagerly awaiting a DVD release of the animated show.

What I and many other fans want is a DVD release that includes the uncut, subtitled episodes, with the subtitles as accurate and close to the original language.  Nelvana released the dubbed TV release of Cardcaptors on DVD, as well as having a second DVD release of Cardcaptor Sakura in uncut subtitled form, proving that there's room in the market for both kinds of release.  The success of the uncut Cardcaptor Sakura DVD release also proves the marketability of uncut subtitled animation to an older demographic.  An uncut release with the original name intact to differentiate from the TV version also provides cross-promotional opportunities with Tokyopop, who has already made the name Tokyo Mew Mew known to consumers.

Another example of a show with multiple releases that has been by all reports successful is ADV's release of the uncut subtitled Saint Seiya DVDs, with DiC releasing an edited TV dub titled Knights of the Zodiac on Cartoon Network.  History has shown that this kind of release is both viable and desirable, and enables you to reach your target demographic without alienating older fans of the original show.

If you do make the decision to provide an uncut subtitled version of Tokyo Mew Mew on DVD, I will buy it and show my support in the only way that really counts.

Thank you,
